Perc-Rite
What is Perc-Rite?
The Perc-Rite System is a drip irrigation wastewater disposal system controlled via a computer. Using this type of wastewater system is ideal in conditions or terrain where other types of systems could not deliver. With Perc-Rite, wastewater systems can be built even on areas with steep slopes and undulating terrain.
Installing the Perc-Rite System requires the following conditions:
- Wide areas – to install this system, you’ll need between 1,000 square feet to several acres of land. There should also be adequate space between the system and other structures such as wells, building foundations, and bodies of water.
- Areas with appropriate soil quality – the soil where the Perc-Rite system will be installed should be able to hold and treat waste water. Also, the soil should be of appropriate texture and structure, such as Class I, II, III, or IV soil. Finally, considerations have to be made about the depth of the available soil.
- Topography – the Perc-Rite System is best for areas with slopes, undulating terrain, and flat areas. When installing this system, the dripper line should run along the contour lines, not across.
- Drainage – there should be adequate space between the area where the Perc-Rite System will be installed and areas that are prone to erosion. If installed in areas with surface or ground water, the water should be diverted.
- Vegetation – once the Perc-Rite System is installed, vegetation should be introduced in the area. Doing this will help prevent erosion, and facilitate the removal of some of the water from the soil.
